Women dating younger men...still faux pas?
It is norm to see older men with younger women, but is it still faux pas for an older woman to date younger men?
Perhaps not as serious as the whole cougar on prowl, but simply by a few years.
As I get close to 30, yeah I said it, I'm find men as young as 23 trying to show interest. I perfer my men 32 and up...always have, even in my early
twenties.
So, my question is:
Men, have/would you date an older woman? What is your preference (older or younger) and has been your experience?
Ladies, have/would you date a younger men? What has been your experience?

I've never come across a younger guy whom I would consider dating. Not that it can't happen, it just hasn't yet.
I've always been attracted to older guys.
At 27, I can't see myself going out with some 23yo. It'd be weird to me He'd have to be *some* guy for me to even consider it.

I was married to an older woman for 18 years.
All I know is that the woman has to have wisdom, drive, adventure and ambition to get my attention. I've met older women who acted their shoe size as
well as younger women who were wise well beyond their years.
Age isn't anything but a number. (past 21 I might add)

I think The stigma of desperation still comes with a woman dating a man that is considerably younger than her. 2 or 3 years is not a big deal, but
when you're talking 4 or more years apart... it looks bad. If the woman doesn't look like she's older than her man..... if they look like they
could be around the same age, then some of that stigma can be reduced, but if you can CLEARLY tell the difference in their ages, then yea.... both of
them gone get TALKED ABOUT like nobody's buisness.
my friend called me the other night and told me that she has a crush on a 22 year-old guy she met this semester in one of her classes. They are
"study-buddies" so she says But anyway, she's 31 and I admitt, I
teased her about this guy because she was telling me and gushing about how mature and down-to-earth she thought he was. I laughed simply because of
the age. I know I won't get the "friend of the year" award for that but she sounded like she was a bubble-gum teeny bopper. I don't care how
"mature" a man seems to be, I wouldn't even date a 22 year -old and I'm 25!!!!!! A couple of months ago, this 20 year-old dude tried to holla at
me and I was like DUDE get away from me... YOU'RE A BABY, YOU CAN'T EVEN DRINK LEGALLY ! WHERE WOULD WE GO FOR A DATE? CHUCK-E-CHEESE??? That is just soooo not happenin'.

My environment (grad school) places me around a lot of older women a lot. I try to date younger women, but situations normally have me dating older
women. I don't really have a problem with it, but they seem to be going for different things than I am (normally talk about marriage and kids etc,
which is a little more than I want right now). But as long as she isn't too nuch older, I'm pretty much game.

Simple answer to the thread...Yeah, there is still an unspoken STIGMA to COUGAR dating..and/or this perceived older woman robbing the cradle..maternal
instincts trying to have some flip the script Oediphus complex...(See all these white chick teachers sexing their teen to pre-teen students even
becoming preggos by their middle school student, makes it worse...UGH..)
I'm not 30 yet and not for a few yrs...but I prefer an older man...just haven't ever met a younger man who sparks my interest...Yeah, they Look Good
and Youthful and VIRILE and "Fertile as Myrtle"...but once you get past the rap, music talk..I loose interest...plus I love an older, educated
man..because many will know how to hold a conversation and make references to things that show maturity...or a "been there, done that" type of Life
lesson...they tend to say adages, figure of speech expressions, reference that metaphorically make sense in a conversation...challenge my mind to
analogize a situation and analyze a course of action...I love when they have that excitement about life or a plan on how to "Get Rich Quick or Die
Trying" type go-getter...Can't explain this any better..One of those you have to be there to get what I mean about this...
I love to be as challenged mentally as i do physically...
I love an older Brotha with some "dirt" on him..and can express himself beyond...just catchy phrases and stuff...
( I blame this on the education and m y childhood experiences that I have received...I have traveled here in the USA and been exposed to other stuff
beyond just my birth community...some people don't expand their horizons beyond their own neighborhoods/communities...etc...etc..)
BIG Disclaimer..and NO not all older guys have their poop in the pile either..met many a 40++ yr old man trying to relive his younger days, coming to
younger age clubs trying to club with the "fresh" meat tender-ronies...trying to talk in teen slang and ish...trying to have me and other younger
chicks...scratch his 7 yr itch...lol....Trying to be some How Steven Got His Groove Back-type mug....So no NOT all older men are necessarily more
"mature"....

I never felt there was a stigma. I say go for it. There are certain age differences IMO that are utterly ridiculous.

Diamond,
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
All I can say is game recognizes game and MATURE game is the best game in town.
Unfortunately, I must admit that as soon as you would have told me that you were UNDER 30, my 40+ old behind would have graciously as possible bowed
out of the conversation. (And yes, I'm sure it would have been my loss, but something inside would not let me do otherwise.)
BTW, COUGAR dating huh? New term to me. Thanks for the lesson.

PassaFist....lol...hypothetically speaking of course..say that happened...and say i "liked you"..do you really think I would tell my real
age...lol..especially if i sensed you may lose your lunch over it....Shoot, many an older man has been age misled"...plus...many men, know that's
almost a cardinal sin for a Man to even ask a Woman her age...(or her weight for that matter...or risk a beatdown...lol... ... .... )
Shoot, one swoop of the hairstyle and right attire, right conversation, jack of all trades on most general topics of interest......man, lol....You
wouldn't know what Hit Ya....Chicks have made many a man fall for that Rope a Dope (voice of Muhammed Ali) chick come floatin' like a butterfly but
sting like a bee around ya...lol
Given the right chemistry, you'd be surpirsed how a younger like person can have an "Old Soul" (plus having olderr bros and sis's doesn't hurt,
listening to them..can make a chick cross these generation barriers...)
Again, though, JMO...but There is just GENERALLY a double standard that won't really ever go away, just because others may not say something out
loud, in their minds...stigma's....
hee-hee-hee-hee...let me stop Passa...lol...that's just me being a pesky lil
