Tara McMullen
Tara Correa-McMullen (May 24, 1989–Oct. 21, 2005) was the stage name of Shalvah McMullen, an actress who was known for a recurring role as gang member Graciela Reyes on the CBS  television series, Judging Amy.  In 2005, she co-starred in her first movie, Rebound,  alongside Martin Lawrence.

Despite a healthy income earned from Judging Amy, Correa-McMullen quit the show for what some suspect was her real-life street gang involvement.

Ironically, the actress was gunned down at the age of 16, outside an apartment complex in Inglewood, Calif., in what police believed to be a gang-related shooting.

Cherlynne Theresa “Lynne” Thigpen (Dec. 22, 1948 – March 12, 2003) was famous for her roles as “The Chief” in the various Carmen Sandiego television series from 1991-1995, and  as Miss Barrett in the 1989 dramatized biographical film Lean On Me, co-starring with Morgan Freeman.

The 54-year-old actress was found dead at her home in Marina del Rey, Calif., by a friend.  She had not been seriously ill, and her death came as a surprise and shock. Drugs and foul play were ruled out by the coroner’s autopsy, which found “acute cardiac dysfunction, non-traumatic systemic and spontaneous intraventricular hemorrhage and hemorrhage in the brain,” as the causes of death.

The film “Anger Management” (2003) starring actors Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson is dedicated to her memory.
