John Kerry's African American Wife
I saw this on another site. I've heard about it but I hadn't read this before.
First Sister?
By Christine Phillip, BET.com Staff Writer
Posted August 13, 2004 – The GOP is beginning to play the race card.
In a bold move to attract African American voters in key battleground states, a group of Republicans calling itself People of Color United, has begun
running radio ads on Black stations in Cleveland, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Mo., and other urban areas with large minority
populations.Advertisement
The focus of some of these ads: Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry’s wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry. In one ad, the announcer says “his wife
says she’s an African American. While technically true, I don’t believe a White woman, raised in Africa surrounded by servants, qualifies.”
According to news reports, in the 1990s, Heinz Kerry described herself as an African American. But William Marshall, Jr., director of African American
media affairs at the Democratic National Committee, says that Heinz Kerry has not described herself as an African American in recent times.
But the issue does come up on the campaign trail. He said that at the recent Democratic Party convention, “a number of female delegates began shouting
‘an African American woman in the White House, an African American woman in the White House.’ That happens a lot whenever she encounters large groups
of African American women. Out of love and respect for her, they address her that way.”
Heinz Kerry was born in Mozambique, in south-eastern Africa, to Portuguese parents, and at the convention she affirmed her African roots.
People United, based in Washington, D.C., is the latest in a number of nonprofit groups that is taking out ads to influence the outcome of the
upcoming Nov. 2 elections. The group shelled out $70,000 for the air time on the Black stations, and one of its backers, J. Patrick Rooney is the
former chairman of Golden Rule Insurance, Co.
Rooney, who is white, told The Washington Post in an e-mail, “I support [the] group because the genuine word for the Black community should be heard,
not white folks saying for them.”
In her adult life, Heinz Kerry has become a powerful woman, who like many African American women, is known to speak her mind. She is the head of the
$1.2 billion Heinz Foundation., which funds programs in the environment, urban revitalization, the arts and education. Her personal fortune is
estimated to exceed $1 billion.
Just to add on the Mrs. Kerry Train: Interesting read true or not.
Mrs. John Kerry bashing continues.
BEWARE: Following is a brief background on Mrs. John Kerry. She hates being called that, by the way:
Maria Teresa Thiersten Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry. Married Senator Kerry in 1995. She only took his name eighteen months ago and she is an
"interesting" paradox of conflicts.
If you thought John Kerry was scary, he doesn't hold a candle to his wife! Maria Teresa Thiersten Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry was born in Mozambique,
the daughter of a Portuguese physician, was educated in Switzerland and South Africa. Fluent in five languages, she was working as a United Nations
interpreter in Geneva in the mid-60's when she met a "handsome" young American, H. John Heinz, III, who worked at a bank in Geneva. He told her his
family was "in the food business."
They were married in 1966 and returned to Pittsburgh where his family ran the giant H. J. Heinz food company. He was elected to the US House of
Representatives in 1971, and in 1976 he was elected to the first of three terms in the United States Senate. A Republican, he wrote a burning diatribe
against some of the causes backed by young House member John Kerry.)
Several years later, in 1991, he was killed when his plane collided with a Sun Oil Company helicopter over a Philadelphia suburb. The senator, his
pilot and copilot, and both of Sun's helicopter pilots were killed. He was survived by his wife, Teresa, and their three young sons.
Four years later, having inherited Heinz's $500 million fortune, she married Senator John Forbes Kerry, the liberal then-junior senator from
Massachusetts. She became a registered Democrat and the process of her radicalization was set in motion.
Heinz Kerry is not shy about telling people that she required Kerry to sign a prenuptial agreement before they were married. John Kerry may not have
check writing privileges on the Heinz catsup and pickle fortune, but he is certainly a willing and uncomplaining beneficiary of it.
A lot of hard-earned money, made through many years of hawking catsup, mustard, and pickles has fallen into the hands of two people who despise
successful entrepreneurship and who believe in the confiscatory redistribution of wealth.
So how does Mrs. Heinz Kerry spend John Heinz's money? Just one example:
According to the G2 Bulletin, an online intelligence newsletter of WorldNetDaily, in the years between 1995-2001 she gave more than $4 million to an
organization called the Tides Foundation. And what does the Tides Foundation do with John Heinz's money?
They support numerous antiwar groups, including Ramsey Clark's International Action Center. Clark has offered to defend Saddam Hussein when he's
tried.
They support the Democratic Justice Fund, a joint venture of the Tides Foundation and billionaire hate-monger George Soros. The Democratic Justice
Fund seeks to ease restrictions on Muslim immigration from "terrorist" states.
They support the Council for American-Islamic Relations, whose leaders are known to have close ties to the terrorist group, Hamas.
They support the National Lawyers Guild, organized as a communist front during the Cold War era. One of their attorneys, Lynne Stewart, has been
arrested for helping a client, Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, communicate with terror cells in Egypt. He is the convicted mastermind of the 1993 World
Trade Center bombing.
They support the "Barrio Warriors," a radical Hispanic group whose primary goal is to return all of Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas to
Mexico.
These are but a few of the radical groups that benefit, through the anonymity provided by the Tides Foundation, from the generosity of our would-be
first lady, the wealthy widow of Republican senator John Heinz, and now the wife of the Democratic senator who aspires to be the 44th President of the
United States.
Aiding and supporting our enemies is not good for America, regardless of your political views.
If voters will open their eyes, educate themselves and see the real Teresa Heinz Kerry, they will not appreciate her position as ultra rich fairy
godmother of the radical left. They will not want to imagine her laying her head on a pillow each night inches away from the President of the United
States.
Hopefully they love this country enough to decide that the only way these two will ever be allowed into the White House is with an engraved invitation
in hand.
Instead of deleting this, pass it on. Let everyone know these people are unfit to represent this great nation. The uninformed will never hear the
truth from the press, who wants Kerry elected!
Those who buy the Kerry facade, beware what you vote for - - - you may regret that you got it!
I am deeper still, deeper than you will ever see, a clone cannot be as good as me, and if belief escapes the cognitive rationale, then I bid thee stay
awhile, and watch carefully as I slowly drown you in the deepness of me.

Well she's more African American than I am. I was born and raised in San Francisco, CA, so were my mother and father.
My grandmother was born in Tennessee, raised in SF, CA - her husband was born and raised in San Francisco. My fathers mother and father were both born
in New Orleans, LA and moved to SF, CA.
My paternal great grandmother was born and raised in New Orleans - I cant recall about her husband, but at home my aunt sent me my "roots" it goes
back to the 1800's and NOBODY was from Africa.
My maternal great grandmother was born and spent many years in NAshville, TN - her husband was born in Detroit - they met in California. Her mother
was also born in Tennesee. But that's as far back as I can go on my mom's side.
So as far as I know, my immediate family going back to great grandparents were all born in the USA not Africa.
I thought what I wanted was something I needed, when momma said NO, I just should have heeded.

I don't care where she was born she still will never understand our struggles. However, I do admire her efforts to feel in tune with the black
woman. But regardless to what, society will judge her by how she looks on the outside. She will still be treated better than us.

She is treated BETTER because she is loaded. If she were a toothless uneducagted welfare crakka she would be treated as such depending upon where she
rolls.
Anythings possible. Man in general is but a beast and comprehends little about the universe in which we live.

White people in Africa aren't considered 'African', White people in Africa are called Europeans. Whites/Arabs/South Asians born on the African
continent cannot ethnicially be considered 'African' because they do not come from African ethnic groups, speak African languages, have African
surnames indicating African heritage or any connection to African culture whatsoever. And it's not fair that we ( my people ) should have to become
"Native Africans" in our own continent that we still predominate to distinguish ourselves. Especially considering colonialism, apartheid,
neo-colonialism, imperialism etc. I take this as a slap in the face. John Kerry's wife is of Portuguese heritage, not African.

upon to do this"-Munyonzwe Hamelengwa

Well, there is a difference between attempting to connect with Black women and affirming her birthplace. I don't think she tried to say she connected
with our struggles as Black women, as Afrikan women in America, but if she's expressing pride in calling Afrika her birthplace then I think we should
let her.
I mean, if it was simply a campaign ploy then that's one thing, but if Teresa was saying *I was born in Afrika, I speak Afrikan languages, I have
experienced Afrikan culture and I am proud of that part of me* then I welcome her.
I wish all Afrikan peoples internationally were so proud of their Afrikan roots, no matter how long ago they must reach to find them.
